Mostarda is a typical specialty of Northern Italian gastronomy and that of Cremona dates back to 1397, when a boy, according to tradition, inadvertently dropped a melon into a tub of honey. This association of flavors proved to be fundamental for the subsequent evolution of the product.

Mostarda is a typical delicacy of Northern Italian cuisine, with traditional Cremona mostarda dating as far back as 1397. According to legend, the product was invented after an errand boy inadvertently dropped a melon into a bucket of honey. This flavour combination played a key role in the development of the product we know and love today.
